#24:Read an Autobiography

i started this book back in March when i took a work trip to St. Louis. but never got around to finishing it until recently.

its a REALLY good book about the struggles of a boy growing up through segregation and racisms and trying to make it (just barly) in a predominantly white world. For anyone who didnt know Sidney Poitier is a native born in bermuda. In the poorest possible area with no electricity, running water, schools etc. He later moved to Florida with his brother, and was witness to some of the worst racism and torment i have ever read about. Leter he moved to NY to persue an acting career? with NO training, he was pushed aside for many years. the only reason he kept pushing was to show up all of the people who said he couldnt and would never make it. They said he would always be a dishwasher... look at him now. He is the strongest most passionate person i have had the provlidge of reading about. He is dedicated, determined and a all around ideal man. Yea he had/ has his moments of failure, regret and dissapointments but thats what makes him human. He is an inspiration.

the book is FABULOUS! i strongly reccomeend it to anyone who likes to read. It is an eye opener, an easy read and Quite entertaining!

enjoy.
