engagement fun

So as most everyone knows i have been wedding planning for quite some time. However there were always things i avoided in my fun becuase well they just werent. things that cause more stress than excitement like picking a maid of honor and bridal party, thinking about guests lists and budgets and picking a dress. Not so fun for me. Well a few weeks ago a friend and i decided to venture into the dress world of davids bridal, with the intention of looking at BM dresses and colors. I have a general idea but am not sold on the details. With no luck in that particular area we ventured over to the wedding dress. Overwhelming is an understatement. I had no clue what i was looking at or for and by the way there are thousands of dress out there! thousands of white and cream and beads and lace and omg way to much. there was on particular dress i LOVED on the manican. After talking to the sales woman for a bit i realized it would be easier than i thought. i knew a lot of exactly what i DIDNT like so narrowing it down to about 5 dresses in the entire store that fit my taste made the experience a little more , well, fun!

that was trip 1, as im sure there will be lots more to multiple stores until i find the "wow" dress for me

Before anyone goes and starts judging me on the "why the hell did you register so early questions" keep it to yourself. I know everyone has lots and lots and lots more opinions especially on all things wedding related but i have my reasons.

we are having a party in the near future and we have had a few requests to register in order to give ideas on gift giving if anyone should so choose. we are NOT including them in the invites and do not at all expect anyone to give us gifts let alone off our registry. We also know that lots will change in the stores from now until bridal shower time, we know we know. we are prepared to make changes over the next year and keep it up to date. We were going to do Bed bath and beyond only to please some people attending the party but when we went to look at the china selections at Macys we were talked into registering now. Why?? becuase from now until my wedding date, so 1.5years from now i will earn credits and money for EVERY purchase I make with my macy's card not to mention the money i earn for people buying things off the registery. So for me shopping i also get money back? ok im sold. Any and all shopping from now till 2009 will be done at macys. call me greedy but i dont care, i get some of my own spending money back.. who wouldnt do that!

So no, we arent advertising our registry nor are we expecting any gifts from them.. but just incase some family wants to get something we want they may see what we need :)
